Finnish Universities Achieve Nearly 100% Throughput Rate for Completed Identifications
Finnish universities have undertaken comprehensive tests on various identification options with the aim of simplifying the process of identifying new foreign students and providing them with university usernames. Following thorough evaluations and comparisons, 14 universities have decided to adopt Candour, an advanced identification solution. The decision was primarily based on Candour’s impressive throughput rate, which outperformed its international competitors and approaches 100% for completed identifications. The adoption of Candour as the preferred identification solution by Finnish universities represents a significant step toward enhancing efficiency and accuracy in the onboarding process for foreign students.
Despite Candour’s impressive throughput rate, there have been instances of failed identifications. Currently, the throughput rate is 94.25% due to failures, which typically occur when users lack a valid passport or possess an outdated passport without a functioning chip. In the tests, competitors’ throughput rates ranged from 50% to 60%. The identification process heavily relies on chip reading technology to verify the authenticity of the passport and the user’s identity. In cases where the chip is absent or the reading fails, the identification process cannot be successfully completed.
