With biometric identification technology, banks can now verify their customers’ identities remotely in as little as one minute. Customers simply read their government-issued ID with their mobile phone and take a selfie. Candour’s identity verification then compares a selfie to the image on the ID document in real time.
Once the identity is verified, the remaining onboarding steps are completed quickly and securely. Some fields can even be auto-filled using the data extracted from the ID document, speeding up the process further.
